Mind-Body Healing

The Mind-Body Connection Can Help or Hinder Healing

The mind and the body have an incredible relationship.

They are so intimately linked, it's almost impossible to treat or heal one without affecting the other.

As a fledgling personal fitness trainer in 1999, I discovered this fact by accident.

Indeed, my first foray into the realm of the mind-body connection happened when I saw that
• my fitness clients’ beliefs alone could prevent them from reaching their physical goals, and
• by working with the body, we could often bring about change in those unhelpful beliefs.

That discovery fascinated me so much that I became a coach. I wanted the tools and the knowledge to be able to work with both the body and the mind.

And my 20 years of near-constant education, training, and practice since that first realization only confirmed this truth:

The mind and the body can work together in subtle but powerful ways to create either health or illness, and the choice is ours… once we realize we have that choice!
Sara Hauber heals mind and body
For 10 years, I have taught mind-body healing in live workshops. Only 1-on-1 online sessions are available during Covid.

No matter whether your main goal is a lasting love relationship or to finally love the body you see when you look in the mirror, all of my work is designed to help you harness the incredible power housed in both your mind and your body to help you reach your dreams and live the life you love.

Personal and Professional Mind-Body Experience

My experience with this amazing mind-body connection is both personal and professional.

Indeed, my choice to enter the field of mind-body healing was driven by my own experience.

I had to reconcile some deep body image issues I had as a result of severe scoliosis and subsequent surgery that left me with long metal bars in my back.

(The silver lining: my experience with post-surgery pain is what led me to start my healing journey and eventually develop the Hauber Method™.)

That struggle to heal, and to accept my body as it was, eventually led me to yoga and to EMDR, and those healing modalities have intensified and enriched my own practice of mind-body healing over the years.

Professionally, I had been a victim of a negative belief that created a physical reality.

For years, I believed I could not become a yoga teacher because I physically can’t bend my back (see a photo of my amazing spine hardware in this blog post).

I had spent years proving the old mantra correct, that “Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right”!

That is, until I discovered during meditation that that belief of mine was a load of horseshit.

I quickly was able to dismantle it and replace with this: I can do anything I want, as long as I really, truly want it!

Who says I can't teach yoga? I don't say it, anymore. I even taught two retreats in Italy!

So I became a certified yoga teacher in 2011 and started teaching my Yoga without Back Pain workshops immediately afterward.

The hundreds of hours of continuing education I have completed since 1999 include many courses focused only on the mind-body relationship. I also earned an MA in health communication, during which I founded a campus-wide women’s network to help all of us women deal with the enormous stressors inherent in higher education by accessing the healing power of support.

After all, we all need support from others.

Being separated is one enormous negative consequences of this Covid pandemic, and all of us will need to work hard on our mind-body health for years to overcome the serious detriments of being socially isolated and feeling so alone.

(Did you know that support from others can even impact our physical pain? See what I mean about the mind and body being so intimately connected!)

Coaching for Mind-Body Healing and Alignment

Until 2021, I worked with people exclusively in person.

There is nothing more exciting and gratifying than teaching a workshop to a group of people and having them leave the studio feeling great for the first time in years.

But due to this nasty virus, I’ve had to adapt how I do things. Therefore, all body-related workshops are on hold until the virus is under control.

So let’s work together online instead!

I offer coaching in 3 areas, as well as 1-on-1 training in my signature Hauber Method™ for back-pain relief.

When you work with me, I bring all of my professional development and education, as well as my own wealth of personal experience, into our coaching sessions.

And remember, whether they are physical or emotional, I can help you dismantle the obstacles that stop you from living the life you love!

Let's Get You Where You Want to Go, Shall We?

I offer four ways to help you heal using both body and mind.
All are available online while we turn inward and wait for this awful pandemic to end.
